Fake shops and ads

Fake shops take the visit before a listing appears.

Clone checkouts, lookalike domains, and ads that bid on your name steal the session before a marketplace listing is even in the crawl. Bridge treats fake shops as both a takedown problem and an investigation into who registered and paid for them.

01

What they are

A fake shop copies the brand site closely enough to take payment, harvest cards, or ship counterfeit goods. Paid search and social ads then send traffic to that clone. The customer never reaches an authorised retailer.

02

How Bridge treats them

We monitor domains, ads, and clone checkouts, send notices to hosts, registrars, and ad platforms, and investigate the operators when the same network stands up a new shop after a takedown.

03

What software-only programmes miss

A domain scanner can list lookalikes. It does not always catch the ad that never uses the mark in the display URL, or the payment processor reuse that ties ten dead shops to one operator. That is why fake-shop work has to leave the crawl.
